Ana Marija Sobočan

Summary:  This paper aims to present the significance and insights formulated by feminist literary criticism in relation to issues of literary production, reception, and use of literary works. It is focused on questions regarding the nature of the content and modes of reading and learning in literature classes and tries to provide answers by examining examples of some textbooks in current use. In doing so, it indirectly touches upon matters of pragmatic and humanist aims in education, literature as a formative medium, its educational effects, etc. The paper concludes with brief suggestions for the curriculum in the field of literature.
