Subjective theories as indicators of the quality of educational work

Summary:  In the article we are analysing the status and the place occupied in the educational process by the field of subjective theories. We are discussing what subjective theories are, how to change them, why they are important in the educational communication and in the formation of the educational concept, and what the role of counsellor’s work in kindergartens and schools is. We assume that in subjective theories, properly formed professional (and general) value items, including flexible planning and evaluation with permanent »critical« reflection on the doings in our own pedagogical practice, represent an important indicator of the quality of educational work.
