Inclusive practice of deaf and hard of hearing children in Slovenian inclusive practice of deaf and hard of hearing children in Slovenian Dr. Damjana Kogovšek, dr. Martina Ozbič and dr. Stane Košir
Summary: The trend of inclusive practice is, that we place the deaf and hard of hearing children into their local schools or kindergartens. But we can ask ourselves are we really prepared and can we give such children the right and the best support? We have analysed 67 questionnaires, which are accomplished by different workers in educational institutions. On this basis we have defined the way of teaching and how the curricula is adapted to deaf and hard of hearing children in regular schools. We have find out, that material used in kindergartens or schools are mostly auditivelly than visually oriented, there is much more verbal communication and the content of additional professional help is also educational.
