Plagiarism as dishonesty

Summary:   This article presents an overview of the original concepts regarding division of property by elucidating the background of today’s legal standards, while at the same time revealing their foundations and potential limitations. The paper also considers the issue of deviant behavior at universities and observes the reactions of teachers and students to it. Through the same discourse in this thematic area the spread of plagiarism in the context of today’s norms and communication systems is observed. The paper reviews the origins of plagiarism through a retrospective of its beginnings and its far-reaching impact in the legal, ethical, and educational spheres. The concluding part is dedicated to how plagiarism can be controlled and prevented.
