Internationalisation as an approach to enhance higher education in Contemporary society

Summary:  Internationalisation of higher education is a relatively new concept. This article gives a short overview of the development of internationalisation of higher education and the main elements of internationalisation linked with quality in teaching and learning. We present the development of concepts and definitions aimed to enhance our understanding of internationalisation of higher education. This article also presents the results of some research done in Slovenia on the field of internationalisation of higher education teaching and learning.
