Between special rights and the interculturality principle Klara Skubic Ermenc
Summary: The article addresses the emerging educational policies for students with migrant background. The author argues that the issue of the school system response to these groups is not marginal; it is rather a key issue of educational policy related to questions of equity and overall quality of the system serving a psychologically, socially, linguistically and culturally heterogeneous population. The problem should therefore be addressed comprehensively, not with partial measures. The key problem is that adaptation to the needs and particularities of individuals and groups can lead to excessive differentiation and even segregation, therefore solutions should be sought within the context of the inclusive, intercultural and postmodern educational paradigms.
