Discourse of Crisis, COVID-19 Pandemic and Adult Education
Borut Mikulec

Summary:  In this paper, we discuss the role of international organizations, big tech companies and the global education industry in (adult) education during the global crisis – the Covid-19 pandemic. In the light of current crisis, we review the global education policy solutions stemming from distance education (and learning), and highlight the outcomes of studies that already examined distance education over the past 50 years together with the current experience of distance adult education during the Covid-19 crisis in Slovenia and in world. Further to this, we also emphasize the problematic aspects that public education is facing during Covid-19 and shall face it in future as well, unless the big tech private companies officially do not remain part of the digital educational infrastructure.
