Mojca Lukan

Summary:  In the article we are dealing with the understanding of the principle of nondiscrimination regarding the personal circumstances of gender in Preschool Curriculum (1999). In the beginning we present how the document deals with the problematic of gender in individual fields of activities in kindergarten. This is followed by a presentation of the results of the research conducted among the high school students attending the Secondary Preschool Education and Gymnasium Ljubljana: we were interested in what their knowledge on the curricular document is and how they understand it in the light of the circumstances pointing to concrete educational treatments. The results of the conducted empirical research show that a high percentage of high school students has conquered the curricular principles, goals and guidelines of the document on a general level. We do however point out that it is important for the professors to orient their process during classes into a reflection and operationalization of the content of the curricular document.
