Professional dilemmas concerning the legal solut ion to the pre-school childminder’s institute Dr. Andreja Hočevar
Summary: In the article, we deal with the institute of a pre-school childminder, which has been regulated in Slovenia by the Kindergarten Act since 2008. By means of the comparative analysis of the solutions in the field of in-home child care in the countries where the institutional pre-school education can be compared to Slovenia (Denmark, Finland and Sweden), we show that the solution of in-home child care, known in these countries (at least regarding the activity contents), is more comparable with Slovene family child care than with the pre-school childminder. Pre-school childminders do not perform their activities according to a state-approved program. Thus, they do not ensure children the intentional pre-school education according to a state approved program.
