Summary: The history of immigration to Slovenia from area of former Yugoslavia, and the data on the number of immigrants in Slovenia, shows that migration went on inside the common state. We have to consider this fact in the research of different kinds of literacy of immigrants, because majority of them has Slovene citizenship. In the article we use data from PISA 2006 research to show if there are differences in achievements between immigrants and other students and to search out for the factors by which this differences can be explained. The findings, which we represent, can contribute to higher quality of education policy and to seek systemic solutions that will allow a reduction of differences in achievement between immigrant students and native speakers.
